Neck Surgery

If your neck has broken near the headstock then you'll likely be needing one or more of the repair options below.  Please note that repairing a broken headstock can be a complex process so any pricing is subject to change once your instrument has been brought in for assessment.

  • Clamp & Glue - Can be a viable repair option when there is sufficient surface area between to two piece to enable good adhesion.  Est. ~$75-~$125

  • Custom Caul - May be required if there is no straight-forward way to clamp the headstock to the neck. Est. ~$25-~$50

  • Splines - If there's is either insufficient surface area between the two pieces or if it's a straight break then channels will need to be routed and hard maple splines installed to add structural integrity to the neck.  Est. ~$150-~$250

  • Headstock Faceplate Repair - Depending on the nature of the damage is may be possible to repair the existing faceplate using restorative techniques.  Requires Est.

  • Headstock Faceplate Replacement - The entire faceplate may be replaced including either logo replacement or salvage.  This process involves removal of the original faceplate and installation of a new faceplate veneerRequires Est.

  • Headstock Heel Replacement - If there isn't sufficient connective wood between the headstock and neck then it may be necessary to replace the entire neck heel.  This repair also requires the installation of long maple splines to add structural integrity.  Requires Est.

  • Headstock & Neck Refinishing - If either the neck is splined, faceplate replaced or heel replaced then finishing will be required.  As there are many color schemes and options to this it requires an estimate. Requires Est.

***Note: Above pricing is for labor only and does not include any part or materials that may be required to complete the repair.***
